Today we are excited to become featured artists on Displate!
The online art print provider now offers our unique artwork series “Android Dreams”. This collection of dark, surreal and beautifully designed images is printed on metal plates, providing the indistinguishable feeling of the dreams and fears of our mechanical art creations.
“Android Dreams” collection was created by Sven Sauer and Igor Posavec during the years from 2013 to 2016 as part of the 360 Minutes Art exhibitions.
In these works we have developed illusions that put the viewer’s perception to the test. Again and again we are thematically pulled to mega-cities such as Tokyo, Shanghai or New York. Our works show symptoms of a society and the tempo of a technology development that has exceeded the measure which a civilization is capable to absorb. The result is an exhilarating rationalist romanticism for a civilization which is obsessed of being addicted to reality. Rich in images, the artists tell stories of the lonely search for identity and intimacy amid the global brand epidemic.
SA-PO is the art collective of Sven Sauer and Igor Posavec. Since 2012, the two artists have been focusing on the connection between social movements and local structures within mega-cities (such as Tokyo, Shanghai, New York, and Seoul) as being a representation for our modern world. Their works expose symptoms of a society and show the tempo of our growth-oriented technology, which seems to have extravagated the human capacity to absorb.
The result is an exhilarating rationalist romanticism for a civilization, that is obsessed with being addicted to reality.
While challenging the viewer´s perception of art, the detailed paintings aim to visualize the human quest for identity and intimacy amid the global brand epidemic.
